As with any philosophy, people implementing those precepts reflect their own personality and background. The objective of my Master of Fine Arts Thesis in Music [Shinichi Suzuki and His “Mother-Tongue Approach” to Music Education in the United States” (December 1988)] was to chronicle the development of Suzuki education in the United States from its introduction in 1958 and to identify some areas where the implementation may have to be adapted to a new culture.
